day one

In this teeming city of 1.4 million, there is so much stimulation of the senses!

I spent my day looking after a few CTT details, then went to the Owino Market with Peter and Henry. This was the very first place I visited when I came to Kampala with the Maine Photographic Workshop two years ago. It is a colorful, crazy and noisy blend of vendors hawking everything from gum to grills to garlic to goats. We snaked our way through the crammed walkways, Peter pointing out various things – me just taking it all in and shooting a few pictures here and there.

Tomorrow I’ll head to St. Mary Kevin’s. Should be good and rested by then and ready to begin work.

Kulika Amazalibwa Ggo (Happy Birthday) to Max!
