the children

Following up on yesterday's post, I want to share some of my new photographs of the children. These are all pretty sobering portraits. I'm sorry about that. But this is the way it is with orphans. And at the close of each day, after some jump roping or a card game with a best friend or a full belly from lunch or a mattress on which to lay their head - that's the devastating reality these children must face.
