day 2 in eastern kentucky
I went to a 4th of July celebration in Jackson (Breathitt County) where I saw my first greased pig race. A guy doused a pig in Johnson's baby oil and set him free to run, and then five contestants chased down the slippery porker trying to pin him (her?). Then there was lots of squealing. Really loud squealing. Strapping young Kevin was the lucky winner. He got a trophy, and he also got to take the pig home.
