as the sun was going down

I've been ambivalent about committing to my "one photo a day" project while in Portland this summer. I've been here four days already and haven't started it, so maybe I'm not doing it?

Last night as we were walking home from dinner and a movie, I spotted this woman standing in the park next to our building. We walked by her, but then a few seconds later I turned around and went back, asking if I could make her portrait. She said I could. I had to high tail it up to our apartment to get my camera, as the day's end was quickly approaching. Plus, I really wasn't sure if she'd still be there when I got back.

But she was, and the light held out, and this is the picture we made.
